Before you donate — what Ontario law requires
Only individuals who live in Ontario may contribute. Corporations, trade unions, and businesses cannot legally donate to a municipal campaign.
The maximum any one person may contribute to this campaign is $1,200 for the 2026 election, and no more than $5,000 in total across all candidates running for the same council.
Contributions must be made with your own money — not reimbursed by anyone else, and not made as a loan.
Donations of $25 or less can be made in cash. Anything over $25 must be traceable — this campaign accepts e-transfer only, sent from an account that clearly shows your name. Anonymous donations over $25 cannot legally be accepted.
We're required to collect your full name and address for any donation over $100, for the public financial disclosure every candidate has to file.
Municipal campaign donations are not tax-deductible — you'll receive a donation receipt for your records, not an income tax receipt.
Contributions can only be accepted during the official campaign period.
This campaign complies with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Questions about a contribution? Reach out to pproderick@icloud.com.
